작품이 지니고 있는 특장점은 동양의 문화를
유리공예에 담고 있다. 화려한 장식 없이 선과 면이
지닌 절제의 미학을 작품에 담는다.
일상 속 가장 큰 가치는 무엇인가 유리공예는 시간의
밸런스를 잘 맞춰야 한다. 서두르면 모양이 어긋나는
경우가 많고, 늦으면 유리가 깨진다. 인간관계에서도
타이밍과 시간 밸런스가 중요하지 않나.
일과 일상에 영감을 주는 것이 있다면 쇼핑이다.
숍에는 최신 유행이 응집되어 있다.
서울리스타가 본 서울은 어떤 도시인가 조명과
같다. 서울은 겉보기에는 화려하게 반짝이지만 꺼진
조명처럼 허전한 이면도 지니고 있다.
서울리스타가 본 서울 여자의 특징은 투박하지만
단단하고 멋스러운 유리를 닮았다. 속을 다 보여주는
유리처럼 순수하면서 쉽게 깨지지 않는 견고함도
갖추고 있다.
What made you do this work? I was fascinated
by the glass art that changes depending on the
minute difference in glass concentration, the
weather and the materials. What activities
have you done in Korea? I held two private
exhibitions. Since there are not many glass art
exhibitions, it drew much attention. What are
the features of your artworks? I portray Asian
culture and express the art of moderation using
lines and areas. What’s the most important
value in your life? In glass art, if you rush, the
shape won’t come out right, and if you’re late, it
will shatter. Same to the relations with people.
Timing and balance are important. What inspires
your work and daily life? Shopping. Latest
trends can be found in shops. What city is Seoul
like? Seoul shines on the surface, but also has
its lonesome layer to it just like when lights are
turned off. What are Seoul women traits? They
resemble glass - tough but also stylish. You can
see within it, but it doesn’t break easily.
