가진 사람들과의 대화, 읽고 싶었던 책, 여행지에서 “선인장에 핀 꽃은 행운을 상징합니다.
처음 보는 식물들, 갑자기 다르게 보이는 동네 풍경, 그래서 사람의 머리 위에 선인장 꽃을 그려요.
열렬히 기억하고 싶은 어떤 순간들. 모두 작업의
일상에 지쳐 무표정한 현대인에게 좋은 일이 생기길 바라는 마음입니다.”

서울리스타가 본 서울은 어떤 도시인가 낭만적이면서도
외로운 도시. 결핍과 풍요가 공존하는 곳이다.
서울로 1박 2일로 여행을 떠난다면 낮에는 동네에
위치한 ‘두오모’나 홍대의 ‘수카라’에서 신나게 먹고
마신 후, ‘국립현대미술관’과 ‘d 뮤지엄’, ‘리움’으로
미술관 투어로 시간을 보낼 것이다. 해가 질 무렵엔
‘홍건익 가옥’으로 향해 고요함 속의 편안한 휴식을
가질 것이다.
서울리스타를 꿈꾸는 20대 여자들에게 인생 선배로서
해주고 싶은 말은 언젠가 해야지 생각했던 것들을 지금
하라고 말해주고 싶다. 생각보다 시간은 너무 빨리
간다. 젊음은 한 번 지나면 다시 오지 않는다. 인생의
가장 에센셜한 시간을 허비하지 않고 무언가로 꽉
채우길 바란다. 그것이 무엇이든간에.
What inspires you? Everything I see, hear and
experience. Having conversations with people
that have good tastes, reading books, seeing new
plants, realizing that my neighborhood suddenly
looks different, coming across moments that
I desperately want to remember. All of these
become source of my artworks. Where do you
spend your everyday? I don’t really leave the
area I live in. I wake up in the morning and take
a walk, and then begin my work with a cup
of coffee. The scent of grass after a rainy day
wakens my soul and helps with my artwork.
What city is Seoul? Romantic yet lonely city.
It is a place where deficiency and abundance
co-exist. If I were to take a 2-day trip to Seoul,
I’d eat and drink at a neighborhood restaurant
during the day, and then tour around art
galleries. When the sun sets, I’d head over to
Hong Geon-ok’s House to enjoy relaxation in
a calm atmosphere. Any advice to women in
their 20s? Everything you thought of doing
someday, do it now. Time flies fast and youth
does not return once it goes by. Don’t waste your
essential time and make sure to fill it up.
